Description

The Sr Construction Project Manager for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects are properly scoped, designed and executed with an emphasis on strict scope, budget and schedule control. This position will be based in Anaheim currently, working on Anaheim projects. They will have full accountability for implementation of assigned projects and must perform accountabilities according to established operating procedures and is expected to take an active role in continually improving these processes. You will strive to successfully manage each assigned project from inception to completion and continually deliver projects within approved budget and schedule with the highest quality and in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. You may be responsible for leading a staff of other Managers/Associate Managers and accountable for providing leadership to your team in the implementation of assigned projects.

Principal Accountabilities / Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads project scope development and options analysis. Leads project estimate development and review with support of Project Estimator. Develops project implementation strategy and schedule with support of Project Scheduler. Obtains funding approval, via execution approval process, prior to implementation with support of Project Controller.
Ensures/leads integration of all scope requirements associated with each assigned project. Obtains Stakeholders' concurrence through the development of the Program Book for each assigned project.
Assembles project teams with internal and external resources to successfully complete and deliver the required scope.
Identifies unplanned business needs within his/her project and leads unplanned capital process to obtain the required funding.
Leads the process to resolve project-specific financial issues.
Oversees the efforts of all project team members to ensure that they are working as an integrated team in delivering against project requirements.
Closely manages project timelines and schedules to manage client expectations and ensure minimum impact to Operations.
Provides leadership to team members in identifying project risks early and guide them in developing appropriate mitigation plans.
Manages project budgets and provides timely project spending updates with support of Project Controller.
Partners with all lines of business (LOB) to ensure the final product best meets the intended business objective.
Communicates project information effectively to LOB client and all impacted Resort divisions and management. Provides accurate and timely bi-weekly and monthly reports. Distributes meeting minutes notes to project team members.
Conducts weekly project meetings with all stakeholders.
Provides leadership to direct reports (if applicable) to ensure all assigned projects are delivered to the Resort with the highest quality and within approved budget/schedule.
Provides execution strategies, as well as schedule, for each project during planning phase. Develops project Program Books to assist with formulation of best construction execution strategies.
Actively participates in the design review meetings (30%, 60%, 90%) and provides input to ensure comprehensiveness and constructability of the design documents.
Leads the packaging, buying, and implementation of construction services and process.
Identifies and recommends qualified bidders/contractors.
Recommends award of contract(s).
Integrates various elements of the project's scope (full ownership of the overall scope) into a comprehensive project schedule.
Responsible for all field control procedures (RFIs, CDs, Daily Reports, etc.).
Audits and assesses contractor's performance on the contract.
Administers the planning of staffing requirements and labor resources for each project.
Reviews and approves contractor's schedule of values and progress payment requests.

We Require:
4-year college degree (BA/BS) in related field or 2+ years of college and 12 years of hands on experience.
7-10 years of project management/construction management in commercial and industrial construction with a minimum of 2-3 years of Theme Park experience.
Computer literate; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project Management software, i.e. Expedition, Microsoft Project.
Advanced knowledge of SAP and its related Material Management/Financial modules and applications.
Advanced knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, document management, best Value Contracting, contracts management, cost forecasting.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods and techniques. Knowledge of construction applicable codes, i.e. UBC, NEC and UFC.
Familiarity with the ADA codes.
Strong organizing skills.
Ability to develop effective relationships with other departments.
Strong understanding of our Guests and ability to demonstrate Disney passion for excellence.
Excellent communication skills with ability to prepare presentations that drive project related decisions and project related risks, frame up mitigation options, and management with minimal guidance.
Ability to identify and capture opportunities for savings and cost avoidance, i.e. Value Engineering.
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
