The Circle D Ranch Manager is responsible and actively engaged in the day to day operations for the Circle D Ranch operation. Plan, organize and implement the overall tactics and goals of the department. Support the Resort Mission of Guest/Cast/Financial excellence. Manage Guest metrics, coach, and develop all direct reports in the performance of their role. Model Disney Leadership behaviors. Promote the Disney Service model. Maintain an emphasis on the Four Keys. Manage the annual operating plan for areas of responsibility. Direct workforce requirements, scheduling needs, and Cast retention. Contract with third parties for these services as appropriate, ensuring best value and optimizing life cycle cost.


Recruit, hire, and lead staff through coaching, recognition, development, and performance management. Ensure staff receives appropriate training to optimize customer service and job proficiency. Able to guide or train Cast and/or work with Cast that have Equine driving skills.
Maintain adequate live stock, to sufficiently operate all locations.
Oversee and manage all purchases and sales of Circle D assets; including but not limited to equine, all other animals, equipment, feed, medicine and supplies. In this capacity the determination as to when the best time to sell and purchase animals are made.
Oversees all animal training and development for Resort use.
Lead all individual project teams in setting and accomplishing project objectives, utilizing appropriate performance measures.
Act as point of contact for all reporting agencies, including, USDA and OC Animal Care Agency and the Department of Fish and Game.
Maintain all licensing for animals and equipment associated with the Circle D operation.
Maintain all animal health records and bills of health. In doing so this position must interact with outside veterinarian agencies.
Coordinate community involvement for our animal staff. Including but not limited to appearances of our animals, official showing of our equine and donations of any proceeds won at the shows.
Able to work with veterinary services and have a good understanding of animal medical needs.
Have a good understanding and be able to work with Cast that has an understanding of leatherwork.
Have a good understanding of Ferrier needs and be able to identify potential problems.



Qualifications:

• 5 plus years relevant experience
  
• BA/BS preferred
  
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
  
• Must possess communication skills both verbal and written
  
• Ability to model Disney leadership competencies
  
• Must possess interpersonal skills, as well as analytical skills
  
• Ability to influence and persuade others at the Resort in an effective manner
  
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals in a variety of roles and job levels
